JOINING SHORE

When you join our team at Shore, you can do so in a variety of ways that will help you to maintain an independent career while being part of a vibrant virtual team of industry analysts.  Unlike other research and advisory firms, Shore actively encourages the participation of independent analysts as valued members of our core team.  These team members may be chosen to provide research and advisory services and support  under the Shore brand, as either an independent consultant or as an employee, or they may elect to participate in Shore's virtual team opportunities on a partial basis while they pursue other independent  opportunities in parallel with their Shore affiliation. Shore recognizes that in today's job markets, such flexibility can allow people to provide valuable input to our efforts in ways that help them to keep on the cutting edge of industry developments while marketing their skills in the most efficient manner possible.  In turn, Shore and its clients reap the benefits of a community of talent that is being refreshed constantly by "real world" experiences.

Shore team members contribute to our operations in any number of functional areas.  Since each relationship with Shore will be unique, there are few "typical" examples of what a given workload may resemble: each person contributes what they can, as they can. Key functions that are supported at Shore by its team of analysts include:

Daily market commentary on developments in the content and related technology industries, as well as in the institutions that they serve.
Research reports on specific topics of interest to our marketplace, as well as private consulting for specific clients.
Private advisory services on a "per request" and ongoing basis.
Research to support the development of implementation tools for Shore clients.
Contribution to and moderation of online community functions.

Shore looks actively to establish relationships with talented and experienced people who have a background in research and advisory services in content and related technology markets, as well as with people who have related industry experience in institutions that purchase, implement, sell, or create content and related technology services.  Candidates should be able to "sell themselves" and their services to major institutional markets and handle the high degree of independence, ethics and self-discipline required to work in a virtual team environment.  Being able to express oneself effectively and clearly in print, in person, in media outlets and in online environments are important skills that must be in place or readily developed. Familiarity with business development, strategic sales techniques and/or independent consulting practices is strongly advised.  Please note - if you are currently an independent consultant, you need not give up your practice to join our team in most instances.

If you think that you have the right qualifications for joining our team, or would like to explore other potential relationships with Shore, please feel free to contact us at recruiting@shore.com or via our corporate office.  All inquiries will be treated with the utmost discretion. We look forward to hearing from you!
